PROPERLY CARING FOR YOUR WIG

WASHING YOUR WIG

  • Rinse with cool to lukewarm water. (Water should be at room temperature or slightly warmer.)

  • Apply a small drop of sulfate-free mild shampoo to the wet hair. DO NOT rub the hair or lace as you would with your own, this will cause premature balding of your lace unit.

  • Comb the shampoo through the hair from top to bottom using a wide tooth comb and gentle downward strokes one section at a time, starting from the bottom up. DO NOT scrub the hair, this will cause tangling.

  • Gently apply some of the soapy water to the inside of the cap and massage the lather through the cap. DO NOT scrub the cap.

  • Rinse again with cool to lukewarm water from the top down and from the inside of the cap to remove excess shampoo.

  • Gently blot hair with a towel.

 CONDITIONING YOUR WIG

  • Apply some moisturizing conditioner to the damp hair. DO NOT SCRUB THE LACE this can loosen the knots.

  • While the hair is still wet, work conditioner evenly into the hair.

  • Avoid scrubbing the lace as it can loosen the knots on the cap, causing hair loss to your unit.

  • Leave the conditioner in the hair for 3-5 minutes.  While the hair is wet and saturated with your wig conditioner, very gently detangle the wig, starting at the tips of the hair and working your way up.

  • Finger combing the most gentle way of detangling, but a wide-toothed wig comb can also be gently used.

  • Thoroughly rinse the conditioner from the hair under cool running water.

  • Gently squeeze excess water from the wig (do not rub the hair) and lightly blot hair with a towel (do not twist your unit). 

DRYING YOUR UNIT

  • Gently blot hair with a towel.

  • When able, allow the wig to air dry naturally. Blow drying your unit my cause heat damage the hair a down the road)

  • To restyle your human hair unit, you may use a blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron on low heat settings only or use electric rollers on a medium setting. Using high heat can cause heat damage to the hair.

USING HEAT

  • ALWAYS use a heat protectant when treating your wig with heat. Not using a heat protectant can cause significant heat damage to the hair and shorten the life of your unit.
